Asus has decided to lower the specs on their US version of the 5.5-inch Zenfone 3 Deluxe (ZS550KL) which has reduced the price to $299 USD as opposed to the original $399 USD price tag.
If you’re unfamiliar with this Deluxe version, it’s largely the ZS552KL except that it uses the build of the Zenfone 3 Deluxe.
So this cheaper version has less RAM and smaller storage size. Rather than 4GB of RAM, this version has 3GB of RAM and the storage is 32GB instead of 64GB. You may see some incorrect retail listings showing this as having the AMOLED display but it has the IPS display which is found on the non Deluxe Zenfone 3 models. Cost is the reason for IPS display versus the AMOLED display.
