New Zenfone 3 hits FCC – Perhaps the Laser (ZC551KL)

A second Zenfone 3 has showed up at the FCC. This time its the Z01BDC model. We cannot say for certain what model this is exactly, but based on our best guess this may be the Zenfone 3 Laser (ZC551KL).

If you’re wondering when the pre order phase will begin for the US and Canada markets, we haven’t heard just yet. Expect word to come down in the next week. Stay tuned for updates or sign up on our mailing list!

Since I installed vanilla update on vanilla out of the box os crapware MMB29P.WW_user_14.40.144.6_20161108

    my phone

1 won’t detect my sim 1 (I got only one)
2 Wont activate/detect wifi AT ALL

So I have a brand new non-internet, non call phone now. Who the f….. release these kind of updates? Seriously?

So any help on how to deal with this (maybe rollbacking a non sh…y version?) is really, really welcomed.

I have had this phone for about six weeks, was working great on ATT, I liked it. I had to install the update and my WiFi still works but mine now doesn’t see SIM either (I also have just one). Can’t get customer service help. Same exact software version you referenced, WW_14.40.144.6_20161108. Wouldn’t you know I missed the return window by two weeks. I’m hoping for a new software version to fix.

I made an account on this website just to reply and say it’s taken me 3 straight days to troubleshoot the fact that my Zenfone 3 Laser ISN’T reading either SIM slot regardless of the card used (and yes I just updated the phone as you did). I’m extremely upset. So much money gone to waste with getting minutes in my phone when I can’t EVEN USE THEM.

Do either of you have any suggestions? This is seriously bad customer service. I’ve already filed a complaint… Fhdifnfjfb.

Yes! There is a fix. I’ll find the link and post it here. Mine is working normally again, you have to install patch software that rolls back the update and there are some steps.
