Asus officially unveils 3 new Zenfone Go models including 6.9-inch (ZB690KG) model

Asus keeps the Zenfone train rolling. At the most recent Indonesia release event, Asus showed off (a slide) three new Zenfone Go models. There is the 4.5-inch (ZB450KL), 5-inch (ZB500KL), and 6.9-inch (ZB690KG).

Here is a quick look at the specs:

  • ZB450KL – 1GB RAM and 8GB Storage
  • ZB500KL – 2GB RAM and 16GB Storage
  • ZB690KG – 1GB RAM and 8GB Storage

This was announced for the Indonesian market, so we don’t know yet if there will be other variants that might have more RAM or storage.

Difference between Zenfone 3 Deluxe (ZS570KL) vs Zenfone 3 Deluxe (ZS550KL)

To make the 5.5-inch Zenfone 3 Deluxe cheaper, Asus has made some changes. Hopefully this comparison will help you make a decision. For some people, the compromises in the smaller 5.5-inch model are very reasonable. Let’s break it down and let us know your thoughts in our poll and comment section!

Processor Comparison:

  • (ZS570KL) Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (2.2GHz) vs. (ZS550KL) Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 (2.0GHz)

One question we have is whether the slower, lower frequency processor will result in better battery life.

Graphics Comparison:

  • (ZS570KL) Adreno 530 624MHz vs. (ZS550KL) Adreno 506 650MHz

Display Comparison:

  • (ZS570KL) Super AMOLED vs. (ZS550KL) Super IPS+

It looks like the ZS550KL shares the same display as the Zenfone 3 (ZE552KL). Both these Zenfone 3 Deluxe models have a 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Storage Comparison:

  • (ZS570KL) UFS 2.0 vs. (ZS550KL) not UFC 2.0 and will be either eMCP or eMMC

RAM Comparison:

  • (ZS570KL) 4GB/6GB vs. (ZS550KL) 4GB

One question we have is whether people will be able to full utilize or appreciate 6GB of RAM.

It looks like the 5.5-inch Zenfone 3 Deluxe (ZS550KL) has the same camera that the Zenfone 3 (ZE552KL) has.

Zenfone 3 Deluxe hits FCC – Coming Soon To US and Canada

This appears to be the fourth Zenfone 3 models that has made it to the FCC. In general, release dates are around 4 weeks from the time of being published on the FCC website. Late September will be a likely release date for the hero model, the Zenfone 3 Deluxe. You want premium, this phone is it. With the addition of the cheaper 5.5-inch model (ZS550KL) we are not sure which variants will be making it to Canada and the US markets. Stay tuned as we near the North America and US launch event!

Asus unveils cheaper, smaller Zenfone 3 Deluxe (ZS550KL) at 5.5-inches

Although some people want the absolute top end smartphone, others might want something just a notch below the top end. The new 5.5-inch Zenfone 3 Deluxe may just be the winner of the entire line-up.

How so? Price is cheaper, the size is a bit smaller and the specs are more reasonable and thus creating a lower overall price. You’re going to get less RAM but the ZS550KL still has plenty with 4GB RAM. You’re getting the build quality but a slightly less performing camera which is simply a compromise that you need to be willing to make. Judging by our poll results, it seems a lot of you will take a cheaper price vs. better cameras.

We do not know the global availability of the ZS550KL and release date schedule. For now, we can tell you the price in Indonesia will be 6,099,000 IDR.

We can safely say that you can figure out the possible price in your country. IF you know the price of the Zenfone 3 Deluxe (ZS570KL) in your county, then we can predict that the smaller 5.5-inch (ZS550KL) will be this percentage less:

33% cheaper

So take you country’s price of the Zenfone 3 Deluxe (ZS570KL) and multiply it by 67% and you should have a reasonably good idea on the price of the ZS550KL provided your country will get it.

New Zenfone 3 Max (ZC520TL) Promo Video Released

Asus has just released a new promotional video for the 5.2-inch Zenfone 3 Max model. You can view the video below.

The price is cheaper than the main three Zenfone 3 models which have been promoted so far by Asus. The 5.2-inch screen is smaller than the previous generation but this smaller screen should be less demanding on battery life. A nicer build quality, finger print sensor and improved cameras are some of the updates on this next generation Max phone.

We still are expecting a 5.5-inch Zenfone 3 Max (ZC553KL) announcement. No word on price or country availability, but it’s going to be more expensive.
